Chopard goes Superfast!

Today 00/24 WatchWorld is in Ronda (Spain), nearby Marbella. To be precise at the Ascari Racing Resort, together with Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and Jacky Ickx, to discover three new models in its Classic Racing Collection, three “Superfast” watches: Automatic, Power Control and Chrono.

However the race track and the superfast racing cars are calling, the watches have our fully attention. The models are sporty, sophisticated, powerful and imposing watches that enriched the popular Classic Racing line. All three are equipped with Chopard movements from the Fleurier Ebauches workshops. Of course, they carry a number of references to the world of competitive car racing. The dial, with silver brushed vertical lines against a black background, evokes the cooling fins found on air-cooled racing engines. On the inner bezel ring, the minute numerals adopt the appearance of the markers that adorn sports-car rev-counters and speedometers. The hour, minute and seconds counters provide the legibility required in tense situations. The rubber strap carries a smooth tread of the slick tyres. All the bridges are openworked with thin parallel lines in the style of cooling vents on sports cars. Other things are: the Classic Racing collection’s steering wheel logo on the rubber-moulded gold crown, the grooved engraved on the sides of the lugs, rubber-coated pushers for better grip, all refer to the world of auto racing.

Chopard Superfast Automatic

The Automatic model is equipped with the self-winding calibre 01.01-M. This calibre is COSC certified  and has a 60-hour power reserve. Its 41mm case in 18-carat rose gold is water resistant to 100m. The dial displays hours, minutes and seconds, as well as the date through a window at 6 o’clock.

Chopard Superfast Power Control

The second version with calibre 01.01-M offers hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, the date through a window at 3 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. The 18-carat rose gold case measures 45mm.

Chopard Superfast Chrono

Also 45mm is the Chrono, with calibre 03.05-M, a mechanical self-winding movement powering hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock, a tachometre scale engraved on the bezel, and a chronograph with sweep seconds hand, minute counter at 3 o’clock and hour counter at 9 o’clock.
