Valentine’s Day is over… and I admit: I was “surprised” by the bouquet of flowers I received during our romantic dinner. But at a certain point yesterday, I was a little bit disappointed. Where were my precious watches with that ticking sound by which my heart beats faster? When opening the box, I should have blushed because I was flattered by the polished gold and the brilliance of the sapphire crystal?
During the presentation of the new three models from the Chopard Superfast collection, I got a chance to try them all on the wrist. Admittedly my wrist size is made for the 41 mm time-only version, but the 45-mm versions, Power-Reserve and Chronograph, sits ever so well on my wrist and would be my choice(s) of the three, if I should name my favorite(s).
Today 00/24 WatchWorld is in Ronda (Spain), nearby Marbella. To be precise at the Ascari Racing Resort, together with Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and Jacky Ickx, to discover three new models in its Classic Racing Collection, three “Superfast” watches: Automatic, Power Control and Chrono.
If you were in Antwerp on the 16th of October you could have seen that the Dutch jeweller Steltman Watches from The Hague had a lot of loyal customers. A big group of Chopard fans travelled to the Museum aan de Stroom in Antwerp, Belgium to discover the latest watch and jewellery collection. The Museum aan de Stroom is one of the newest museums in Antwerp: it opened its doors in May 2011.
There are a number of quality guarantees for Swiss watches, like Swiss Made, COSC, Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal), all with more or less stringent qualifications. A recent quality seal is the Label Qualité Fleurier, which was officially started on September 27, 2004 by the Fondation Qualité Fleurier (FQF). The Fondation itself was an initiative by watch brands Chopard, Parmigiani Fleurier and Bovet Fleurier, together with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, and started in 2001 to draw up new esthetical and technical criteria for watches made in the Fleurier region.
Chopard owner Karl-Friedrich Scheufele presented their faster than ligtning L.U.C 8hz to a small circle of movement geeky journalists on March 8th. The fast ticking movement which capitalizes on silicon technology has been underway for a couple of years, but Chopard did not want to release the watch until it could go through COSC certification.
