A glance behind the dial at A. Lange & Söhne

On 17 January 2017, A. Lange & Söhne went live on Facebook at the SIHH in Geneva. Host Piers Gibbon, A. Lange & Söhne CEO Wilhelm Schmid and watchmaker Robert Hoffmann discussed the 2017 debuts and answered questions on the timepieces. The exclusive mechanical timepieces by A. Lange & Söhne are crafted from precious materials with the utmost of artisanal skill and only in small editions.

They are guardians of a horological culture that is handed down from generation to generation and that began in 1845, when Ferdinand A. Lange founded his watch manufactory in Glashütte, Sachsen. After the German Reunification, his great-grandson Walter Lange refounded the manufactory after its expropriation in in late 1940s. Ferdinand A. Lange’s ambition to define benchmarks with timepieces of the manufactory is still reflected in every single Lange watch.
