Fast and limited. The basis for this 500-piece limited edition Seiko is the Grand Seiko Hi-Beat 36000 GMT calibre and its appearance shows a strong resemblance to the SBGJ005, the watch that won the ‘Petite Aiguille’ at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2014. Totally new in this Limited Edition with GMT function are the special dial and rotor.

The colours were inspired by the landscape of the Iwate Prefecture in the north of Japan, where the watch is manufactured. The case is a contemporary interpretation of the renowned 44GS from 1967, with high-gloss surfaces that feel extremely comfortable. Looking through the sapphire case back you will see the rotor made of titanium and tungsten in the colours of Iwate, obtained by exposing the titanium to an oxidation process. The result is unique for each rotor, with gradations of blue, purple, orange and yellow like the light of dawn. The red dial is like Mount Iwate at sunrise. The steel SBGJ021 has a steel 40 x 14mm case, is water resistant to 100m and will be available in November with a price of € 7,300.
