Christopher Ward C8 Regulator Limited Edition: Precise pilot

Christopher Ward C8 Regulator Limited Edition

The latest addition to the Christopher Ward Aviation Collection is called C8 Regulator Limited Edition. A regulator offers the ultimate accuracy in timekeeping in a pure design and this pilot’s watch offers additional ruggedness.

Historically, regulator watches were used as a tool for precision in timekeeping, with the minute hand as primary, and the hours and seconds counted on smaller sub-dials set into the face. The C8 Regulator Limited Edition incorporates this aspect of watch design but progresses the tool’s role, giving a contemporary new finesse to the traditional regulator watch.

Matt black pilot

Whilst taking inspiration from the aviation aesthetic of the C8 Regulator Mk I, the new Christopher Ward C8 Regulator Limited Edition offers a modernist take on pilot’s style. Understated matt black accentuates the dial’s features, and the individual hands, including the semi-skeletonised brushed gunmetal minute marker and the red second marker, draw the viewer’s attention to the hands and allow for ease of use and complete accuracy. The Swiss made watch’s 44mm sandblasted DLC case has a tough look and once you flip it over a wide opening of smoked glass exhibits an elaboré hand wound Unitas 6498 movement, with a 3 wheel module cleverly engineered by Christopher Ward’s Technical Director Johannes Jahnke, to bring the hour hand from central to 12 o’clock. Other features are a push-down crown, anti-reflective top sapphire crystal, and a screw down open case back with smoked glass and engraved serial number.
