Nearly 200 guests, representing the world of Haute Horlogerie, gathered in Amsterdam on the evening of Friday June 4, where the Supperclub Cruise ship was ready to float through the Amsterdam Port area. On board the 10th ‘Watch of the Year’ ceremony took place, organized by the largest Dutch watch magazine: 00/24 Horloges.
There were several Awards to be won, corresponding with the various price ranges of the participating watches. The winners of the prestigious Watch of the Year Awards are: Nomos Zürich (category up to 3,000 Euro), Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Date 986 Duo (category 3,000 - 10,000 Euro), Blancpain L Evolution Phase de Lune 8 Jours (category 10,000 - 25,000 Euro), A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk (category 25,000 Euro and above) and the Hublot Big Bang Tutti Frutti Apple (category Ladies Watches). The Innovation Award was gained by the TAG Heuer Monaco V4 Platinum watch. On top of that, the jury decided to hand out a special prize for the spectacular pocket and wrist watch from Bovet, the Fleurier Amadeo Jumping Hours.

Each member of the widely respected jury judged the watches from their own specialties and know how on technique, design and haute horlogerie. Amongst the jury were the following watch enthusiasts: watch collector Ed Nijpels, fashion designer Monique Collignon, architect Roberto Meyer, actor Huub Stapel, watch expert and appraiser Antoon Gaemers, designer Jan des Bouvrie, appraiser Ronny Wooter, Kees Noomen from Coster Diamonds, watch collector and real estate magnate Richard Homburg, international editor and publisher Karel Hubert and 00/24 Horloges founder Harry Wijnschenk.
