0024 European Watch of the Year Awards: Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech 3 Days Automatic – 47mm

The Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech™ 3 Days Automatic - 47mm is the winner in Category 2

This week we present you with the winners of the 0024 European Watch of the Year awards. During jury meetings of the 16th edition of the competition we evaluated more than 100 submissions, divided into six categories – four price categories for men’s watches and two price categories for women’s watches.

The international 0024 readers also voted online for their favorite watch. The judges also took the opportunity to present a special award for technical excellence. Without further ado: here’s the winner of category 2!

Category 2: Men’s watches from €10,000 to €25,000: Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech™ 3 Days Automatic – 47mm

Judges’ substantiation: “The Carbotech presents a striking lightweight case of high-tech carbon fibre that consists of thin layers of carbon fibre bonded by a polymer called PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) and is pressed at a high temperature. This results in a very sturdy and durable case, stronger and more durable than ordinary carbon fibre, ceramic or titanium: perfect for a divers watch. Another feature worth mentioning is the distinct look that is reminiscent of marble.”
