For four days the spectacular Laguna Seca race track in the American State of California was the stage where ferocious racing cars from different eras did battle. During the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, part of the Monterey Classic Car Week, 500 historic racing cars could be seen in action in their natural environment: the race track.

Rolex has been the title sponsor for the event since 2010 and partly because of this Jim Bartell, who was able to win the Spirit of Monterey Award in his Shadow Mk II, a 1971 Group B Can-Am sports car powered by a growling 750 hp Chevrolet V8, received what is perhaps the ultimate driver’s watch, named after that other famous race track in the United States: the Daytona chronograph.
