Bremont Releases Its ‘Venom’ On The Big Screen

Bremont ‘Venom’ U-2/51-JET

Bremont is starting to create a serious legacy in the movie industry. After being featured in Kingsman: The Secret Service, they can very soon be seen on the wrist of Tom Hardy, while playing Eddie Brock in the upcoming blockbuster ‘Venom’, which is due to release this October. The watch selected for this prominent role is the U-2/51-JET.

This Bremont is most certainly suited for an action hero as its 43-millimeter case features a black DLC coating and is water resistance up to 100 meters. It is powered by modified caliber 11 1/2″‘ BE-36AE, which is Chronometer certified and can be admired through the case back which is fitted with tinted black smoked glass.

The dial is very legible, as it combines the vintage ‘51’ lume that we already know from the Limited Edition P-51 by Bremont, yet now combined with steel hands which are heat treated so that they have a beautiful blue tint. Legibility is further ensured by the sapphire crystal, which has an anti-glare coating on both sides. While the timekeeping functions of the watch are operated with the crown at two o’clock, the one at four o’clock controls the rotating bezel which is placed under the sapphire crystal. All combined a great watch for action heroes, but also a very tempting offering for mere mortals!

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
