Cartier Launches Santos With Gradient Blue Dial

Cartier Santos Gradient Blue Dial

Ahead of the 2019 edition of SIHH Cartier has introduced a version of the Santos with a new dial. Now in gradient blue with a sunburst motif that makes the Santos more sportive and casual than ever!

Gradient means that it goes from jeans blue at the center of the dial to nearly black at the outer edge. This is even amplified by the date wheel, which has a black background. For Cartier blue is a rather unusual colour that they haven’t been using too often. However, the colour has proved to be increasingly popular among consumers in recent years.

As is now a tradition with the Santos, the watch will be delivered not only with a stainless steel bracelet but also with a calf leather strap, of course in blue as well. Thanks to the proprietary QuickSwitch system you can easily change from bracelet to strap, or vice-versa, in seconds without the need of any tools or experience. What also hasn’t changed is the movement, as the blue dial-version is also powered by Cartier’s manufacture caliber 1847 MC, providing you with automatic winding and a power reserve of 48 hours. What pleasantly enough also hasn’t changed is the price, as the blue dial variety of Santos will cost exactly the same as its silver dial sibling!

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
