Chopard introduces a new version of the L.U.C XP

The L.U.C-collection is a showcase of what is possible at Chopard. The XP represents this in the purest form. With only two hands does it seem basic, but Chopard’s attention to detail ensures that this also become a tantalizing watch.

Its 40-mm case is crafted from stainless steel and frames a stunning jeans-blue dial with a brushed finish. Hands and hour markers in rose gold add a dash of contrast. What makes the watch stand out is its strap, which is crafted from blue merino wool. This makes the L.U.C XP all of a sudden a more casual proposition as one would expect from a creation of the esteemed house of Chopard.

The movement that powers this watch, caliber L.U.C 96.53-L, has a power reserve of an impressive 58-hours. This is thanks to two mainspring barrels. The movement also features a micro-rotor, yet is despite all these features very slim, with a height of only 3.3 mm. This makes it that the L.U.C XP itself also remains rather thin, which increases its wearing comfort. As a result, does this L.U.C XP shows us a different side of Chopard, high-end yet with a casual-chic appeal.

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
