Christiaan van der Klaauw Introduces Black Aventurine

Christiaan van der Klaauw Black Aventurine

For that reason, blue is a popular base colour for aventurine. However, Van der Klaauw recently introduced black aventurine and showed that it is equally beautiful. The colour is deep, dark black, yet has an incredible play of light, making it the oxymoron of being an understated statement. Van der Klaauw launches this new dial material in one of their landmark models: the Planetarium.

What makes the Planetarium such an exceptional watch, apart from its new dial, of course, is that it houses the smallest mechanical planetarium in the world. You just have to look at your wrist to see the current and correct standing of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in relation to the sun. The watch combines this with a date and month complication, while the automatic movement also features a power reserve of 96 hours, making the Christiaan van der Klaauw Planetarium exceptional in every way!

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
