Few brands have changed from a mainly quartz orientated watch brand to a full-blown manufacture in such a short period of time as Frederique Constant. The beauty of the brand is that it is still embracing both aspects. A highly anticipated addition to their manufacture collection is the Flyback Chronograph.
As we are used from Frederique Constant is also the styling of the Flyback Chronograph classic, yet not overly so. It has a modern-sized, 42mm case and features a surprisingly large dial. A glass box sapphire crystal gives a bit of a vintage feel, as does the tri-compax layout of the chronograph.
That is a little visual trick that Frederique Constant played because this chronograph does not have an hour counter. Instead, the subdial at six o’clock is dedicated to the date. This is the perfect solution, as a date window would have a negative impact on the clean and beautiful design of the Flyback Chronograph.
Inside we find manufacture caliber FC-760, which is as beautiful as it is technically competent. 233 parts not only ensure accurate timekeeping but also allow you to start, stop and reset the chronograph, as well as the ‘flyback feature’ which resets and immediately starts the chronograph by pressing just one button. That makes the Flyback Chronograph Manufacture another very welcome addition to the Frederique Constant line-up.
