With the Aikon Maurice Lacroix has created a very recognizable sports watch, mainly thanks to its unique case shape and the way the strap/bracelet is attached to it. They are now expanding the collection with a limited edition of 500 pieces of which this case is crafted from bronze!

The brand matched this rich case color with a blue strap and a blue dial, which features a beautiful texture. The watch is equipped with an automatic movement and Maurice Lacroix opted to forgo a date function. While maybe missed by some, it does add to the purity of this model.

At first, the Aikon has that rich color for which bronze is so well known for. However, over time a unique patina will form, which will be determined by the conditions the watch is exposed to. This will give it a more ‘rough’ look and will render all the watches unique, as this patina will never be exactly the same.

While bronze is a popular material these days, and lots of brands feature it in their collections, the Aikon stands apart. That is because this metal goes so well with the overall design of the watch, and is for sure complemented by the beautiful blue colour Maurice Lacroix decided to pair it with!

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
