Race-bred brand Rebellion has just announced that they will be the official timekeeper of the 41st edition of the Dakar Rally. Known as one of the most challenging events in motorsport, they will put men, machine, and watches to the ultimate test.
Being pushed to the limit is familiar territory for Rebellion as the brand has been successfully participating in the demanding LMP1 category of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for quite some years now. They have infused their watches with this racing pedigree, which has resulted in remarkable creations which often combine impressive complications with high-tech materials and design.
The 2019 edition of the Dakar Rally will take place from January 6 until the 17th. In this time the nearly 500 contestants need to cover over 9,000 kilometers on their bikes, cars or trucks. For the eleventh time, the Dakar Rally will take place in South America, with Lima (Peru), as the starting point.
For Rebellion this will only be the beginning, because they will act as the official timekeeper for the next three editions of this prestigious event. Undoubtfully this will serve as an inspiration for the brand, which has a need for speed at the core of their DNA!
